 History of the company

The partnership Fospol was founded in 1991 by privatisation of the quarry economy division of the former corporation CEVA Prachovice, at present Holcim (Czech) company, a concern member and it started drilling and blasting work in Prachovice quarry with the volume of ca 1.3 mil. t of rock a year. In the following three years the company undertook freight traffic of the transport centre CEVA Prachovice company and it enlarged its main activity – drilling and blasting work – to Černý Důl and Horní Lánov quarries the Krkonošské vápenky Kunčice company and Chrtníky quarry for the company Stavby silnic a železnic, today Eurovia CS, whereby it increased the average annual volume of mining to ca 1.9 mil. t of rocks. In further years the company specialized itself in gradual purchase of productive instruments into its own property and it began to invest into own material and technical equipment.

In 1999, when the company was consolidated at all points the then output volume enlarged singly by ca1.6 mil. t of rock a year at 6 localities of the Tarmac Severokámen company, at present Tarmac CZ company, in central and northeast Bohemia. Jump enlargement of the territorial activity of the company, together with the conversion from so far locally accumulated mining to bigger number of separated quarries often with a relatively small mining volume, urgently caused the necessity of the needs of reorganization of usual work techniques, which was finished successfully after about two years. In the following years the company enlarged its activity by drilling and blasting work in Vlastějovice, Chlum quarries and the Tachov company Tarmac Severokámen, at present Tarmac CZ company, and it started gradual restructuring the aim of which was higher flexibility in relation to the changing market and other strengthen of the company position in the service branch for opencast rock mining.

The aim of this progress is to offer the customer the system of so called "complex service" of the quarry, which includes the coalescence of drilling and blasting work and secondary disintegration of the material with loading and cartage of raw material to the primary grinder, into one coherent technological entity, completed with the transport of finished products to the inter - deposits, dump removal and realization of overburdens, etc., so the provided service could be really complex and the customer can concentrate its capacities just on processing of delivered raw material in technological line and on the sale of the products.

On 11th. January 2007 the majority share of the stocks of the company was sold and company Explosia, Pardubice - Semtín has become its new owner. Explosia finished its long-time intention by the trade and has created high potential of future expansion for both the subjects by connection of powerful producer of explosives with the biggest explosive user on the Czech market. On 29th. November 2007 Explosia bought the rest of Fospol stocks and has became owner of 100% of Fospol company.

Cooperating with its parent company Fospol succeeded in an international tender and acquired commission for 4 quarries of new customer, HeidelbergCement Group, in different range of applied services.

During 2009 year Fospol drilling and blasting services for last gained 6 quarries of Tarmac CZ and loading and transporting services for 10 other quarries of Tarmac CZ were gradually ended.
